Being a parent takes being able to multi-task to a whole new level. Raising children is incredibly rewarding and probably the most important thing you'll ever do in your life.  Having the know-how to handle this mammoth task makes it a little easier which is why The Baby Expo would like parents to continue sharing their valuable information with others.

Thank you to our Champion moms and dads all around South Africa for posting your hints and tips regarding parenting.

"If your soft fruits (pears, bananas etc) get over ripe before you can eat them just pop in them in the freezer skin and all and when you are ready to use it just steam in a steamer or microwave. Makes a great & easy puree for little ones or a sauce to add to yoghurt/smoothies or ice lollies for the kids and you save because you don’t waste the fruit and you can buy bilk without any worries." Compliments from Sharla Strydom.

"When on the beach and little ones feet (and bodies) covered in sticky beach sand and time to get back in the car, rub on some baby powder and voila no more messy beach sand - it miraculously falls off! Clean kids and clean car!" Compliments from Nicole Leonette.

"Travel with a least 2 licensed drivers, incase u get tired or use rest facilities to freshen up, be on the lookout for ATM hackers, don’t accept help from anyone, take your car 2 the service before travelling long distances, watch your kids all the time, cover your pools, have the emergency numbers on the open." Compliments from Kulani Masebenza.

"I have seen, on a very hot day, if we have to be in the car: take a burp-cloth, make it wet and attach it to the back window where baby sits. It helps to cool the space by baby. Try, it really helps a lot!" Compliments from Lesley Pretorius Steyn.

"Please adult supervision is essential around all bodies in the water no gadget is safe enough without it and children can drown in very little water." Compliments from Sunitha Mansoor Sookai.

"All kids at crèches have chair bags - wash and hang over the headrest in the car, fill with activities and toys for the journey. When you arrive at the destination, it can go over the dining room chair. Helps the little ones to feel at home in the holiday environment. Enjoy the holidays." Compliments from Lynn Mary Coetzee.

"My best tip is: the toys I keep in the car are toys that the kids don't see or play with inside the house , so when we are in the car they have enough stimulation with that specific toy(s) - have a 2 year old and 10 month old and it's definitely worked for me." Compliments from Shevon Brymer.

"After reading about all the Holiday Tips on your website I was really pleased to see the tip about getting your kids to make things for others at Christmas. It just shows that a lot of thought and effort has gone into that particular present. Just to take that one step further - I get my eldest daughter to paint and decorate empty toilet rolls and we make our own Christmas crackers. She also enjoys finding little jokes in her different joke books, as well as filling the crackers with little toys and sweets. My 22 month old also has fin with the paints, although she gets more on herself than on the crackers, but atleast we have fun family time doing it together. Wishing all of you a Blessed Christmas and New Year. Let God’s love and light shine in 2010." Compliments from Wendy Botha.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
